Stressed ? You're not alone !!!

Welcome back from your Easter break I hope you had a good time.

Now is the time, for many,  for the hard work of revision and exams to really start. So what ever happens try not to stress! This weeks poem is about coping with stress !

Taking Control

"Life has spiralled out of control
You can't grasp it for a second
You don't know what else to do
but give up.

Time to take control
Get life organized
One thing at a time
One step at a time."

Trash by Andy Mulligan

Raphael is a dumpsite boy. He spends his days wading through mountains of steaming trash, sifting it, sorting it, breathing it, sleeping next to it.

Then one unlucky-lucky day, Raphael's world turns upside down. A small leather bag falls into his hands. It's a bag of clues. It's a bag of hope. It's a bag that will change everything.

Soon Raphael and his friends Gardo and Rat are running for their lives. Wanted by the police, it takes all their quick-thinking and fast-talking to stay ahead. As the net tightens, they uncover a dead man's mission to put right a terrible wrong.

And now it's three street boys against the world...

I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 11 as the vocabulary is quite easy to understand.

The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary

With this book, you can see everything while making the movie before and after. You can go behind the scenes and see what the celebrities are up to and how two young boys became stars in a couple of weeks. You can see what costumes they wear. There is even a part in the book where they show how they did special effects and watch out, there is even a surprise in the book. The text is great, they describe the characters in a good way. If you’re a lover of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, then this is the book for you!

Blade Runner by Oscar Pistorius

Born in South Africa, this is tale of Oscar’s life. Born with no fibulae, his parents made the decision to have both his legs below the knee amputated to give him the best chance of a normal life.

From learning to use his prosthetics to losing his mother at a very young age, the book shows the many difficulties in life Oscar has faced. It is an inspiring story and everyone should look up to him as a sports man and as a person.
