Trash by Andy Mulligan

Raphael is a dumpsite boy. He spends his days wading through mountains of steaming trash, sifting it, sorting it, breathing it, sleeping next to it.

Then one unlucky-lucky day, Raphael's world turns upside down. A small leather bag falls into his hands. It's a bag of clues. It's a bag of hope. It's a bag that will change everything.

Soon Raphael and his friends Gardo and Rat are running for their lives. Wanted by the police, it takes all their quick-thinking and fast-talking to stay ahead. As the net tightens, they uncover a dead man's mission to put right a terrible wrong.

And now it's three street boys against the world...

I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 11 as the vocabulary is quite easy to understand.

With this book, you can see everything while making the movie before and after. You can go behind the scenes and see what the celebrities are up to and how two young boys became stars in a couple of weeks. You can see what costumes they wear. There is even a part in the book where they show how they did special effects and watch out, there is even a surprise in the book. The text is great, they describe the characters in a good way. Hunger Games - Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins

Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But she’s still not safe. A revolution is unfolding, and everyone, it seems, has a hand in the carefully laid plans – everyone except Katniss.

And yet she must play the most vital part in the final battle. Katniss must become their Mockingjay – the symbol of rebellion – no matter what the personal cost.

This book contains lots of action and some adventure as Katniss helps in the fight for freedom from the Capitol. If you like action and adventure and a little bit of romance then this is the book for you. I would recommend reading the rest of the series first.

This book was full of adventure and vivid description. The story is based on teenager, Alex Rider. He wakes up one morning to the horrifying news that his uncle, Ian Rider, had died and that he wasn’t who Alex thought he was.
Alex is sucked into the world of spying and soon finds out that he’s no longer the average teenager he’s always been. Will his first assignment be his last?
I recommend this book to people who thrive adventure and thrill. I think male and females would enjoy this book but advise it to teenagers.

The Spooks Blood

I think this book is amazing because the type of language used in the book is great.

I have chosen "The Spooks Blood" because this book is a mixture of fantasy and horror. This book has different creatures like Strigoi/Strigoica who are vampire gods and witches.
There is loads of magic involved in the book like witchcraft and dark magic. This book would be good for people who enjoy horror, so if you love horror then this is the one for you.

Skulduggery Pleasant - Derek Landy

Meet Skulduggery Pleasant , Ace Detective, Snappy Dresser, Razor-tongued Wit, Crackerjack Sorcerer and Walking, Talking, Fire-throwing Skeleton

—as well as ally, protector, and mentor of Stephanie Edgley, a very unusual and darkly talented twelve-year-old.

These two alone must defeat an all-consuming ancient evil.

The end of the world?

Over his dead body.

War Horse - Micheal Morpurgo

War Horse holds special appeal for horse lovers, who care deeply about Joey’s plight as he is pushed and pulled between the humans fighting World War 1. The novel offers a unique perspective on the hardships endured by war horses, and the emotional and physical needs of horses in general. Because the novel is offered from the horse’s point of view, however, human relationships within the book are less satisfying.  - Written By Jasmine 9a1
